COVID-19 Hygiene Kit Project
Covenant Care
After Hurricane Michael hit my Bay County community in 2018, many of my friends and family were displaced from their homes and as a result, were at particularly high risk during the COVID-19 pandemic. I organized a fundraiser to assemble COVID-19 hygiene kits and quickly raised my goal of $300 by bringing my community together. Each kit contained facemasks, soap, sanitizing wipes, and hand sanitizer, and I donated over 70 family-sized kits to local homeless living facilities and women’s and children’s homes. This independent project connected me to my community and inspired me to work to become a leader of my community and continue philanthropic work to help those in need in the future.

Disaster Aid Kit Project
I am partnering with United Way and Rebuild Bay County to to create disaster aid kits to prepare Bay County and neighboring communities for future hurricanes and other natural disasters, and to provide peace of mind. We have raised over $500 and have already assembled over 70 family kits to distribute to the elderly and disabled first, with the help of volunteers. This project is ongoing, and we expect to donate over 100 kits this year with continued social media outreach and distribution of flyers.
I am a trained patient companionship volunteer visitor for Covenant Care. I visit hospice patients to converse with them and communicate their needs to hospice staff. The picture to the left shows me and Mrs. Nicole, a patient that I visit. She is a wonderful French lady who loves Lawrence Welk and traveling.
United Way helped my family in a time of financial struggle, inspiring my journey into community service with their community leadership. I have volunteered with United Way Northwest Florida since then, helping with taking inventory, organizing storage, preparing for events, and doing office work. I plan continue to volunteering with United Way in Atlanta in the future.
